Sidmouth Science Festival is a celebration of science, technology, engineering, arts and maths (STEAM) for all ages and interests. Founded in 2012, the festival aims to inspire curiosity, encourage learning, and show how science touches every aspect of our lives.
Each October, the town comes alive with talks, demonstrations, exhibitions, art, music and hands-on activities — all designed to make science engaging, accessible and fun. The ever-popular Super Science Saturday is a lively, free day for children and families packed with interactive experiments and creative exploration. The festival concludes with a family day at the Norman Lockyer Observatory, where visitors can make rockets, race jet cars, explore telescopes and discover the wonders of the universe.
Run entirely by volunteers and supported by generous sponsors and local partners, the festival keeps most events free or low-cost, helping everyone to join in, learn, and be inspired by the world around us.
The Sidmouth Science Festival is a charity – number 1168115.
