The annual Sidmouth Science Festival is created and run entirely by volunteers – local people from all walks of life who share a passion for bringing science and the community together. For fourteen years, their enthusiasm and teamwork have made the festival a highlight of Sidmouth’s calendar, and now we’re looking for more volunteers to join in and help it thrive.
You don’t need to be a scientist to volunteer. We welcome anyone who enjoys working with others and getting involved. Our volunteers support the main festival team throughout the year in a variety of ways – helping to organise events, assisting with publicity and social media, liaising with schools, managing general administration, or promoting the festival at community events. Or you may choose to lend a hand during the busy ten days of the festival itself, always in October. No previous experience is necessary and the amount of time you put in is entirely up to you.
As a volunteer, you’ll gain new experiences, build friendships, and play a valued part in helping people of all ages discover the wonder of science.

If you’d like to find out more or get involved, please contact us. We’d love to hear from you!
