Many people are familiar with the exposure in the Budleigh Salterton cliffs of the junction between the Pebble Beds and Otter Sandstone, which is clearly marked by a significant change in sedimentation type as well as highlighted (almost like a giant yellow marker pen!).
However, this talk follows these ‘desert’ beds inland a few kilometres to Woodbury Common and looks at the nature of the sedimentary (often quite unusual) rocks to be found there.
