A Tale of Two Pathogenicities.
Professor Edward Guy is Head of the National Toxoplasma Research Unit at Swansea University. He graduated from the University of Southampton and joined the Public Health Laboratory Service there, working on the laboratory diagnosis of infectious diseases. Established the national Lyme Disease Reference Unit in Southampton in 1988. In 1992 moved to Swansea where subsequently became Head of the national Toxoplasma Reference Laboratory. In addition to NHS duties, also teach at Swansea University providing currently, for example, a module to final-year students on the epidemiology of infections spread to humans from animals and the environment.
