This talk is part of a day of events on Saturday 17 October 2026 examining marine life.

An Introduction to Devon Wildlife Trust’s Marine Citizen Science Project – ‘Devon Marine Strandings Network’, with an overview of 2025/26 strandings, with particular emphasis on East Devon and the important role of volunteers and how you can get involved.

Coral Smith is an experienced marine conservation and engagement professional with over 15 years’ experience delivering environmental education, community engagement, citizen science, and marine conservation initiatives across the South-West of England. Currently serving as Marine Awareness & Engagement Officer with Devon Wildlife Trust, she leads the organisation’s marine engagement and community science programmes, manages volunteers and staff, oversees budgets and reporting, and develops partnerships with communities, stakeholders, statutory bodies, and marine specialists.
