Following the success of last year’s event, the Sidmouth Biodiversity Festival is back, promising three days of exploration, education, and engagement with the natural world. Taking place over the weekend of Friday 7 June to Sunday 9 June, the free festival is set to delight nature enthusiasts of all ages.
Organised by the Sid Valley Biodiversity Group and supported with funding from Sidmouth Town Council, the festival offers a wonderful opportunity for people to engage with the beauty and biodiversity of the local environment. From fascinating speakers to nature walks and hands-on activities including family rockpooling, the festival promises something for everyone.
The activities on each day are themed with River first on Friday; Sea on Saturday (also World Ocean Day) and Land on Sunday.
All talks are held at Kennaway House (EX10 8NG) and are:
Friday 7 June
10:00 Simon Browning, The State of our Rivers
11:30 Dr Roger Cutting, Drowning by numbers; Ancient Water Meadows
Saturday 8 June
11:00 Paul Burley, Watching whales, dolphins & porpoises
15:00 Tom Mustill, speaking about his book How to speak Whale.
