Geology walk led by Colin Boynton

A walk along the Jurassic Coast World Heritage Site in Sidmouth with local geologist, Colin Boynton. The Jurassic Coast is a World Heritage Site located on the English Channel coast of southern England. It extends from Exmouth in East Devon to Studland Bay in Dorset, covering a distance of approximately 96 miles (154 km). The Jurassic Coast is renowned for its geological significance, as it exposes an almost continuous sequence of rock formations spanning the Triassic, Jurassic, and Cretaceous periods, representing a span of 185 million years.

The walk is free of charge (donations welcome) and begins and ends at the Sidmouth Museum. It goes along the Esplanade where you can see the rocks and landscape to learn about Sidmouth’s geological past over the last 240 million years.

Fifteen year olds and under must be accompanied by an adult.
