For the past seven years, Devon Mammal Group have been carrying out surveys for harvest mouse nests as the species is under-recorded in the county. Join Sarah Butcher, Project Officer for the Harvest Mouse Project who is working with the Pebblebed Heaths Conservation Trust to look for harvest mice nests on Mutter’s Moor.
Take part in a group survey where they’ll show you how to search for nests and the best places to look. Nests were present on the site last year, but they’d like to find out if these special little mice are still there.
You’ll need sensible footwear for heathland, a pair of gardening gloves and waterproofs.
