Monday 10th October 2022 10:00AM – 12:00PM
Location/Venue: Exeter Energy Recovery Plant Grace Road South Marsh Barton Trading Estate Exeter EX2 8QE

Come and find out about the past, present and future of waste in Devon!

PLEASE NOTE: THIS EVENT HAS NOW BEEN FULLY BOOKED.

Immerse yourself in our exclusive, new History of Waste timeline, find out all about what happens to your waste in Devon from local experts from Devon County Council and discuss what the future should look like.

This tour lasts about 2 hours and includes refreshments in our Education Room, a talk about the current waste picture and a presentation about the Energy from Waste Plant in Exeter, followed by a tour of the control room and viewing platform. There’s plenty of room for questions throughout the morning, whether it’s that thing you’ve always wanted to know about waste and recycling or a query that comes to you when viewing what happens to our rubbish! We’ll finish with a go on our Grabber Game.

Bobby Hughes, a Senior Waste Management Officer at Devon County Council, will talk about the history and the new facility.  She is passionate about behaviour change, waste education and community engagement and has pioneered projects around all these projects in Devon. She lives in Chudleigh with her family where she helps run the local Repair Café and Chudleigh Wild projects.

Lucy Mottram is the Waste Education Officer for Devon County Council and is a self-confessed “rubbish teacher”! She loves talking to people about all things environmental. She is also active in her local community of Bradninch in Mid Devon, where she helps run community projects like the Bradninch Community Food Shed and the local Repair Cafe.

Please book by email to [email protected]. Lucy will then send you instructions and directions to the venue.
