Investigating speed…

Sunday 16th October 2016 11:00AM – 4:00PM

Cheltenham Science Group will be returning for the Sunday Funday marking the end of the 2016 Sidmouth Science Festival. Last year Dave and Kirsty Watson were busy in the preschool tent making plasticine boats, balloon rockets, kaleidoscopes and chromatography butterflies. This year, they are investigating speed. They have lots of questions and need you to help answer them:

  • Who can build the best cotton reel racer?
  • What affects how fast objects fall?
  • Where will the car stop when you change the ramp?
  • When will you react?
  • Why don’t objects keep moving at a steady speed in a straight line?
Cheltenham Science Group is inspiring a new generation to love Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths. The group has been enabling the public to experience, investigate and enjoy hands-on science as well as providing STEM outreach to schools and community groups since June 2015.
