Science in the pub

Thursday 12th October 2023 7:00PM – 9:00PM
Location/Venue: The Blue Ball Sidmouth EX10 9QL

An evening of science, chat and drinks in the function room. (Through the dining room but grab a drink on your way)

Join us for 3 short presentations on very different subjects.

Dr Dan Bebber, Associate Professor of Ecology, Co-Director of Global Engagement (Biosciences), University of Exeter: “What’s Eating Our Bananas?” Topic is the threat of Fusarium Wilt, also known as Panama Disease, to global banana exports. What it is, where it came from, what it does, and how to stop it. Plus other issues in the banana supply chain.

Colin White will be throwing things around – words hopefully – in his talk about projectiles

Dr Robin Devonshire, Director and CTO of Faraday Scientific Ltd

Why not get something to eat before joining us at 7pm? Or just get a drink
