Visit the Gorst Energy Biodigester: Discover Renewable Energy in Action
You are invited to take a guided tour of the Gorst Energy Biodigester at Clyst St Mary, a fascinating local example of how waste can be turned into clean energy and natural fertilizer. The plant transforms manure and locally grown crops into biogas and electricity, helping to power homes and businesses by feeding energy into the national grid. You’ll learn how the plant supports a truly circular system: the leftover material from the process becomes valuable fertilizer, which is returned to the very farmers who supply the crops.
The visit will start at 11am and last about 1.5 hours. All attendees must be wearing sensible footwear, (ideally boots) and will be provided with high vis jackets. Please car share where possible as there is limited parking at the site.
