Dr Paul Steenson from the University of Leeds will explore human-machine interfacing – a very modern issue.
The talk will give a personal and brief review of Bionics and Cyborgs as portrayed in science-fiction and literature as antecedents to present day systems and reality. I will outline some of the underlying technology which will allow this to happen, e.g. rehabilitation prosthetics, assisted living and augmented reality, and then look at electro- neuro-physics and what we may reasonably expect to be able to do in the next 20years based on where we are now with existing technologies.
Venue: Hatton Room

This talk is supported by the Ogden Trust.
