Build and race your own rocket propelled car.
Jet Car – Build and Race is part of the Family Fun Day at the Norman Lockyer Observatory. Admission to the Family Fun Day is Adults £10, children (ages 0-17) free. The entry fee covers all the activities on site for the day except for the jet car kits which cost £15 each.
From 11 am onwards on the day we are offering you a chance to build your own Jet Car. You can purchase the kits on site and they will cost £15 each. The Jet cars are very popular so come early to avoid disappointment. As the numbers are limited we would offer one kit per family please.
The Jet Car Races will start outside the Observatory building from 15.00 (double check start time on the day because of potential weather impact). Prizes will be awarded for the fastest car and most interesting car.
