Sidmouth Science Festival

Friday 9 to Sunday 18 October 2026

Planning for the 2026 Sidmouth Science Festival is well underway and we’re looking forward to another exciting ten days of events celebrating science and its relevance to our everyday lives.

We’re pleased to confirm that two of our most popular highlights will be returning this year: Super Science Saturday on 10 October, with free of charge family-friendly hands-on activities and demonstrations around the town, and the Norman Lockyer Observatory Family Day on 18 October providing a fantastic finale.

An extensive programme of talks and discussions is being put together, covering a wide range of scientific topics and showcasing how science shapes the world around us. Event details coming soon. As always, the festival will include activities, talks and events designed to inspire curiosity, spark ideas and bring science to life.

The festival is organised entirely by volunteers, and we always welcome new people who would like to help in any way — whether with publicity, activities, sponsorship or event organisation. If you’re interested, find out more and get in touch.

Our Science related activities continue throughout the year with a monthly Café Scientifique and you’ll find us at many partner events.
